Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Bundelkhand Express on February 29, 2020. But the work of this expressway has been done 6 months ahead of schedule. This is a historic moment for the people of Bundelkhand. Bundelkhand Expressway has 4 railway overbridges, 14 long bridges, 6 toll plazas, 7 ramp plazas, 266 minor bridges, and 18 flyovers.
By the way, this Bundelkhand Expressway is from Etawah to Chitrakoot. But it will benefit the entire Bundelkhand. The border area of UP and MP comes in Bundelkhand. The people of Chitrakoot, Bhind, Etawah, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, and Auraiya will get the maximum benefit from this, who wander here and there for wages. But now with the increase in tourists, they can put their own employment.
Bundelkhand Expressway passes through 7 districts i.e. Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, and Etawah.
This four-lane expressway with a total length of 296 km (Bundelkhand Expressway distance) has been constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority.
The Bundelkhand Expressway extends from NH-35 at Gonda village in Chitrakoot district to Kudrail village in Etawah district and further merges with the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Bundelkhand Expressway will boost economic development along with improving the connectivity of the area.
Advantages of Bundelkhand Expressway –
- The number of people visiting Chitrakoot will increase because they can reach Chitrakoot in less time.
The glory of Chitrakoot is very vast because Lord Rama stayed there during his exile. - Transport people will benefit because they can now run AC buses on this route also.
- The cost of buses will be halved because less diesel and petrol will be used. And the rest will also cost less.
- Electric vehicles can also be started due to the construction of expressways. Because for India to be free from diesel petrol, the people of the country will have to adopt solar energy.
- This step of Modi is a step forward in making India free from diesel petrol. Half of the country’s wealth is being wasted on diesel, petrol, and coal.
- 7 lakh trees will be planted around the expressway. whose work has already started.
