Connect Set-Top Box HDMI to Computer Monitor HDMI –

If your monitor has an HDMI input, the first thing you should check in the monitor’s specification is whether the monitor is HD Ready, HD+, or FullHD.
Here first we will understand the difference –

  • HD Ready = Resolution will support – 1280×720 / 1360×768 / 1366×768
  • HD+ = Resolution will support – 1600×900
  • FullHD = Resolution will support -1920×1080

You will know later why I told you this. Now to connect this monitor you will need a good HDMI cable.

What to do now?

Now connect your set-top box directly to the monitor’s HDMI. If the display is not coming then you have to check the correct resolution of your monitor and set the same resolution by going to the system setting of your set-top box. If the same resolution is not found, then set it to less than the resolution of your monitor, now the display will come, if still, it is not coming then there may be a problem with the HDMI ports or cable.

Please Note -You will not get sound, if the sound is not available on your Monitor, then you can use an AV cable to connect the set-top box with the home theater.

Then take the VGA cable, connect the VGA cable to the output port of the HDMI to VGA converter, and connect the other end to the monitor.
If the display is not coming, then set the resolution in the set-top box according to your monitor as mentioned above.
